There is no short supply of things to do in Warren County.
You can find something to make everyone happy whether you feel
like spending a day outside with the family or a game of bowling
and going to the library.
Warren County offers many outdoor recreational activities
including but not limited to hunting, golf, camping, soccer,
fishing, spelunking, and leisurely picnics with the family.
You are also provided with easy access to many attractions
such as Rock Island, Fall Creek Falls, and Old Stone Fort State
Parks. There are 13 national landmarks nearby and the Savage
Gulf Federal Reserve.
The McMinnville Civic Center supplies you with many indoor
activities such as high/low impact aerobics, weight training,
indoor tennis, martial arts, basketball, volleyball, along
with many special programs such as square dancing and clogging
that are periodically provided throughout the year. The Center
also has a banquet room with a capacity of 500, kitchen facilities,
and a large spectator sports arena seating 4,800.
The Parks and Recreational Department in Warren County oversees
four tennis courts, six ball fields, one outdoor volleyball
court, five soccer fields, an Olympic size swimming pool, and
four neighborhood parks.
For younger children, the recently constructed Jungle Jym
playground offers hours of swinging, sliding, and crawling
through different bridges and towers.
For older children, you might want to spend some time watching
a movie, playing a game of laser tag, roller skating, bowling,
or reading a book from the local library.
Education in is held as a high priority by Warren County citizens.
Students in the Warren County School System are provided with
with oppurtunities in education normally found in only large
school systems. Every school includes internet connections, "state
of the art" computer labs, and distance learning capabilities.
The School System in Warren County includes eight elementary
schools, one middle school, four parochial schools, and a recently
built Warren County High School and Hickory Creek Elementary
School. Involvement by parents is stressed at all of the schools.
Parent-Teacher organizations insure community involvement in
the educational process. Also, a strong partnership of education
and business supplies an atmosphere where students that are
graduating are prepared for the working world.
Motlow State Community College is a local two-year open-door
college. It offers the basic educational classes and also career-oriented
classes. Courses including Accounting, English, Math, Computer
Science, and History are offered.
The Tennessee Technology Center in McMinnville gives students
skills for the working world in job placement. Vocational oppurtunities
include Electronics, Machine Shop, Nursing, and Office Occupations.
There are seven other universities within a one-hundred mile
radius of the county including Tennessee Technological University
in Cookeville (45 miles); Middle Tennessee State University
in Murfeesboro (45 miles); Vanderbilt University in Nashville
(72 miles); The University of the South in Sewanee (45 miles);
David Lipscomb, Belmont College, and Tennessee State University.
Cumberland Caverns, a US national landmark, is located in
McMinnville. Boasting some of the largest cave rooms and the
most spectacular cave formations, Cumberland Caverns is Tennessee's
largest cave system. The impressive underground ballroom seats
500 people beneath the 3/4 ton crystal chandelier. From May
through October the cave is open daily for tours from 9:00
am - 5:00 pm. "God of the Mountain", and original
underground pageant featuring light and sound is presented

Fall Creek Falls State Park, situated on
the western edge of the Cumberland Plateau, contains over 19,000
acres of rugged
beauty. Within the park are both first class recreational facilities
and untraversed, pristine nature. Two naturalists are on duty
year round at Fall Creek Falls to provide orientation slide
shows of the park, nature rambles, cave trips, and tours of
the park. Fifty miles of trails, including 25 miles of backpacking
trails and 20 miles of biking trails, lead the visitor away
from the
roads and into the heart of the wilderness at Fall Creek.
